Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend and thank you so much for popping over to my blog today. I have been thinking about doing something like this for a while but its just really about having the time to get it started and think I just needed a little kick up the bum! I thought it would be a GREAT idea to write a blog each week about what magical stuff is going on in the UK and share with you any special offers, Disney History, film releases, my plans for the week and any other random stuff that enters my head. It would a place for you to find any information that might be of interest to someone who loves Disney or just adding a little bit of magic to everyday life.
Highlights for this week!
- Limited Edition releases from Disney Store.
- Film of the week!
- Danielle Nicole launched a NEW collection in the UK.
- Our HALF TERM adventures.
- How to add a little Disney magic to Halloween.
- SPECIAL OFFERS this week from Disney Store UK
New Releases at Disney Store this week.
This week is an exciting week for releases at Disney Store and it is driving me crazy because I want two of the big releases but can only really justify buying one this week. Tomorrow sees the release of the Tsum Tsum and Animator Advent calendars. If you have followed me for a while then you will know that we bought the Tsum Tsum calendar last year and made a video each morning which we shared on Disneyfind. we loved making these videos and I watched them back a few weeks ago and can’t quite believe how little James and Joseph were then and how much they have grown in a year… Oh and now James is brilliant with numbers.
Do you collect Limited Edition dolls? I have been so tempted by a few, in particular the Moana one but I still haven’t bought one as I was worried that this might become another thing that I really need…. I am sure that some of you will know what I mean! On Tuesday, Disney Store release Robin Hood and Maid Marian and it is the first time that I decided that I was going to bite the bullet and buy it! Robin Hood is one of my favourite ever Disney movies and merchandise from the film in rare… although I did spot some plushes arriving at the US Disney store and I really hope they come here too! Soooo yeah as much as I want the Robin Hood set, I can only justify buying one expensive item and as the calendar was so much fun for all of the family last year, I am going with that! That’s if I manage to get my hands on it that is….
Danielle Nicole has launched a NEW range in the UK
So… did you watch QVC? I didn’t’t actually manage to see any of the shows as I was just too busy but I did have a peek at the website and the new collections are impressive. I love the brand and I think that each of the pieces that I own perfectly capture the characters and although they are pricey, I would say they are worth it as they are bags and purses that I would keep and use forever.
The Gus Gus bag is definitely my favourite from this collection although I am also loving the Lucifer cross body bag, but to be honest, I would love any bag from this collection. See the full range here Danielle Nicole
Movie of the week!
So…… Halloween is nearly upon us and the whole family is getting very excited for it! James is such a sensitive little boy and he finds some Disney films almost too emotional. Joseph on the other hand just loves them all. So, I was a little apprehensive about showing Nightmare Before Christmas to him. We watched as a family on a Saturday morning and he absolutely loved it! He watched it three times after so I would be confident in saying that it is now one of his favourites. In fact, we all loved watching it and now we are really hoping to meet Jack at Disneyland Paris when we visit in a couple of weeks. So my movie choice for this week is Nightmare before Christmas, if you haven’t seen it then you don’t know what you are missing and if you have seen it then watch it again, its such a lush film and it gets you in the mood for Halloween and Christmas! We watched it on NOW TV but if you want to pick up the DVD – find it here
Our plans this week!
Half Term has arrived in Newcastle this week so I am looking forward to having a week off with the boys. We have got a few things planned but I also wanted to use this time to get some stuff sorted for Disneyland Paris.. you know the essentials, like my outfits, the boys outfits! Which Minnie ears/ Disney bags I need to bring to match all of my outfits. You know those kind of essentials!
So we visited a Airbox Bounce this morning and went to a toddle hour which was great fun as all of the children were under five and you just pay for the children but you can have a little bounce too. Tomorrow we are going to go for a trip to the park, Wednesday we are visiting Lightwater Valley which James is super excited about as they have a dinosaur section, Thursday we might visit Centre For Life as we have an annual pass and they both love it and on Friday I have been invited to the BBC studios in Newcastle as I am being interviewed about Disneyfind…. which feels a bit strange and scary… eek! Then I am super EXCITED for Saturday night as me and Gareth are going away for the day/night to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. So this week is actually pretty exciting!
Adding a little Disney Magic to Halloween this year.
As I mentioned earlier, I am super excited for Halloween this year as James is at an age where he finds it all so thrilling. I loved it when Aoife was a little girl and each year we would choose an outfit and I would take her out trick or treating. Obviously, she grew out of that eventually so it is fun to be able to do those things again. James has a brilliant costume this year thanks to Laura from Disney Walk of Life – see it here.
This year we are having a little family Halloween party and I thought I might share some of the games I played when I was little with the kids. I used to love apple dunking and wrap the mummy and it will be great fun playing these games with the kids and also bring back some fun memories for me! I might even try making a turnip into a lantern and making us all costumes from bin bags just for old time sake!
Obviously, we are Disney mad in this household so we need to add a little sprinkle Disney magic to the celebrations. someone shared this Disney Halloween CD with me a few weeks ago and I will have this playing to get us all in the mood.
Disney Store also have a great range of Halloween party wear which I need to buy but haven’t got round it quite yet – find here. This years halloween Mickey and Minnie are lovely and there is also some fab NBC stuff although I really wish they had a Jack Skellington’s kids costume as James would have loved that. There are some fabulous costumes though and you can pick them up with 25% off at the moment – find here.
I also love carving pumpkins with the kids, however Aoife is always the best and she is obviously in uni this year so we will try and make some Disney themed pumpkins -you can find loads of patterns here. Also I am going to watch my favourite Halloween film – Hocus Pocus – I picked this up from HMV for £2.99 – find it here.
