Have you booked up to see Santa?
Can you believe that some Christmas events are booked by the end of September?
We all know that Christmas can be an expensive time. I always seem to reach mid December and realise that I still have so much to pay for but have pretty much ran out of money! There are presents to buy, events to attend, work parties, school parties, new outfits, Christmas jumpers….the list goes on an on. So I am sure that you would all be happy to know that you don’t always have to spend a fortune to have a magical experience visiting Santa. You can visit his Christmas grotto for FREE at into Metrocentre. In this post I will share our visit with you all.
We went as a family to visit Santa at his beautifully built Grotto under the giant Christmas tree in the Qube on Saturday. We actually visit Santa at the Metrocentre every year as we have always found it to be such a magical experience and the fact that it is FREE is so important as it means that all children have the opportunity to meet with Santa and tell him their Christmas wishes. I also see that Santa’s red chair with the gold trim is going strong! The grotto itself is very well made and had such a magic feel to it. James actually asked me if the elves had come from the North Pole to build the grotto so he was certainly impressed. See pics from our past visits below.
It was quite busy on Saturday, which is likely to be a popular time so I would suggest maybe heading to see him earlier or later in the day if you can. Although the queues did go quite fast and there is a lot for children, including a chance to have your photo taken with a life-size Playmobil character. They are also running some special signing sessions for children with hearing impairments – find out Here where to book
James was thrilled with his gift of a playmobil pirate set and Joseph with his roll along toy. Intu are partnering with playmobil for the second year running and each child is given a gift. Santa was so lovely, as were the elves and they really put us in festive mood. So much so that we ended up spending the whole day at the Metrocentre which we hadn’t initially set out to do. It just felt so magical as we wandered through the centre and it we made some lovely Christmas memories. The lights and decoarations are spectacular and baby Joseph just couldn’t stop pointing and doing the twinkle twinkle sign with his little hands. We also went for dinner to TGI Fridays and sampled the Christmas menu which was delicious, a seperate blog post to follow for this. The boys also enjoyed a ride on the Christmas train, which they loved and again just really made the whole day extra special. It is £2.50 per person for the train and the journey was a little longer than expected but the boys loved every minute of it smiling and waving at all of the shoppers.
So, if you are looking fora little Christmas fun for the kids but don’t want to have to spend a fortune then pay a little visit to Santa, I promise you won’t be disappointed and neither will the little ones. To find out more see here ✨✨✨
Hope you have a great visit!
